Can I build a website with SmartMobile Studio?

Recommended Posts

I have some questions to ask about SmartMobile Studio

1 - I have to make a website and I think that I could to use SmartMobile Studio, but I don't know if I can build websites with it

2 - If I can do that, where can I find examples?

3 - I'd like to know how can I read data from firebird database. I there some example?

4 - Is there some componente like TClientDataset (Delphi) to connect to database and get data from it?

The Smart Mobile Studio RTL is not designed for producing websites.

However the underlying architecture of SMS makes it absolutely feasible to do so.

The last entry in the last post contains an example of a multi-page, database based (MySQL), multilevel-drilldown and mobile-responsive website

You should definitely read all Nico's posts about, he build his own site in SMS and made some nice components so it's definitely possible.

About taking data from FB database, basically you'll need a backend server handling database requests and dispatching data to SMS client. That backend could be done in Delphi (i personally use mORMot) or in nodeJS (next update should bring some definite improvements in that area, but it's unclear when will it be ready).
